As part of the European EU-SIDE project (European Social Innovation & Democratic Education), UPCA has successfully completed the first cycle of the project’s cascade model, engaging Barcelos teachers from four schools and involving pupils across primary and secondary education.
Playing a key role in translating the project’s vision into educational practice, UPCA worked closely with participating teachers to bring social innovation and democratic education into the classroom. The interventions were a resounding success, fostering opportunities for creativity, collaboration, critical thinking and active participation among pupils.
This important milestone highlights UPCA’s contribution to EU-SIDE, strengthening partnerships between higher education and schools and demonstrating the potential of teacher-led innovation to inspire meaningful educational and social change.
